How Universal Is Reviving The R-Rated Comedy & Making ‘Good Boys’ Great At The B.O. With A $20M+ Opening

Social media monitor RelishMix reports that word of mouth heading into the weekend, “For those interested to see this latest Seth Rogen creation, they’re laughing at the moments captured in the trailer, comparing to Superbad and other young-cast R-Rated comedies. The target segment of the film has most certainly been reached, and they’ll show up in the same spirit as horror genre fans show up.”

RelishMix reports that Good Boys boasts a strong social media universe of 114.3M, well ahead the average R-rated movie which is around 75M across Twitter, Facebook likes and video views, YouTube views and Instragram. Good Boys viral video rate was 9:1, though lower than the average comedy’s 12:1, the upside is that the studio unleashed ten official clips, so at this rate, reposting was a good sign.
